VIDEO: Learn All About The Ghanaian Building Houses Using Plastic Bottles – Would You Want One?

A Ghanaian inventor is trying to kill two birds with one stone by venturing into the construction of houses utilising plastic bottles.

Paul Coffie runs ToaHouse, the company which is using this innovation to tackle the issues of plastic waste and unaffordable housing in Ghana.

The innovation involves filling plastic bottles with sand, which are then arranged as the walls of the house and covered with mortar – they serve as cheaper alternatives to the use of bricks.

Coffie claims the houses built using plastic are much stronger than brick houses and are resistant to earthquakes, in addition to being significantly cheaper and more eco friendly.
