NPP celebrity supporter Barima Sidney has sympathised with NDC supporters suffering attacks in the aftermath 0f the party’s electoral loss, revealing he suffered similar abuse in 2012.
According to the controversial political singer, he suffered a similar fate in 2012 when he supported the NPP and they lost the election.
“Some NDC supporters surrounded my house, singing my own ‘Bye Bye’ song.” He said, adding that whilst not physically assaulted, the verbal haranguing he received was serious.
He thus expressed worry with the rate of alleged physical assault against NDC members and called for it to stop.
Several NDC supporters have reported instances of being attacked by supporters of the winning party. Those in the public sphere, such as Mzbel, have received severe online trolling, as well as some people massing around her residence.
Sydney said concerning the incoming government, who he supported, his main concern was in youth development, and not the creative arts as some might think.
“I am not particularly concerned about the creative arts…I am even clueless about the needs of the music industry;… my basic concern is youth empowerment,”
