Gbese Mantse Nii Ayi Bonte has some questions to answer right now in the wake of the NDC’s loss in the just ended general election.
Nii Ayi Bonte told his subjects before the election that he had no doubt John Mahama would win the election, based on the numerous projects he has completed in his area.
To make things more interesting, Nii Ayi Bonte promised to relinquish his stool if the NDC failed to win the election.
December 7’s polls were won by the NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo. No word yet on whether Nii intends to keep to his promise.
Nii Ayi Bonte was for many years known as Thomas Okine, Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, until he ascended to the Gbese throne.
