Lawyer Maurice Ampaw is back with a bang, and he’s commenting about the petition of the moment, that involving the ‘Montie 3’.
The jailed trio were incarcerated for contempt, after threatening the lives of Supreme Court Justices on a political talk show on Montie Fm.
A petition has since been started to attempt to get them out by Presidential pardon before the expiry of their four month terms, but Maurice Ampaw has joined his voice to those vehemently opposed to the President exercising his power that way.
Speaking on Joy News, Ampaw said he would embark on an hunger strike and cease practice for one year if the President pardoned the trio.
“I would go on hunger strike” he said, if the President misabused his authority. “And I’ll refuse to practice for one year” he added.
He said the decision would signal contempt for the judiciary, and thus he would ‘incite’ them against the Executive.
He also added that he’ll go around the country to campaign for President Mahama to lose the upcoming election.
