Okyeame Kwame’s latest song is dubbed ‘Hallelujah’, so perhaps it’s easy to see why he’s in such a conciliatory mode. Whilst fans can’t get enough of this fight, Okyeame Kwame is calling for an end to it.
The ‘rap doctor’, in an interview given to the Graphic Showbiz, stated that the sole purpose of music should be to bring people together, so he feels that’s not being accomplished here.
“Instead of creating animosity, music should be used to bring fans together so we can concentrate on developing a better performance culture,” he told the entertainment newspaper.
Okyeame Kwame, who’s certainly one of the veterans of the rap game in the country, said what’s killing the game is a lack of competition, or even competitors working together to benefit the biz.
“The emphasis at this point should be ‘coompetition’” he said. “This is the new paradigm for music where competitors work together for a common good.
“Competition is dead, plain and simple. To put it plainly, it’s the number one killer of the industry.
