New Star Wars Movie Overtakes Avatar To Become The Highest Grossing Movie Of All Time In The US

The Force Awakens keeps breaking record after record, and there is no doubt it might one day take over Avatar’s title globally.
It has already broken records for highest grossing Christmas Day opening in the US, highest grossing opening weekend of all time globally, and also became the fastest movie to gross $1bn globally.
The latest milestone chalked by the latest instalment in the franchise is taking over Avatar’s record as the highest grossing movie of all time in North America (US & Canada).
The movie has surpassed Avatar’s North American haul of $760.5m, Disney revealed in a press release. Globally, it still trails the 2009 James Cameron action flick.
