STATEMENT: Power Ministry Announces End Of Dumsor

Power Minister- Kwabena Donkor

30th December 2015. Note this date down, because I’m pretty sure a couple of weeks into the new year, we’ll need to make reference to it.

The Ministry of Power has released a press statement, announcing the end to the erratic supply of power problem that has been plaguing this country for the past four years.

The serious problem, which we humorously dubbed as dumsor, has led to several problems which we’re not going to catalogue here. Earlier this year, newly appointed power minister Dr Kwabena Donkor promised that if he failed to solve the problem before the end of this year, he would resign.

Seems like he accomplished that with a full 24 hours to spare.

A statement signed by the Public Affairs Director of the Ministry announced the news:

PRESS RELEASE

The Ministry of Power wishes to inform the public that its Load Shedding program in respect of electricity supply has been brought to an end.

The Ministry takes this opportunity to express its profound gratitude and appreciation to the entire citizenry and residents of Ghana for their forbearance and understanding during those difficult times.

The Ministry and its Agencies wish to assure the public that is shall continue to pursue policies and programs to consolidate the gains so far made in the generation and transmission of Electricity for the country.

Signed

KWEKU SERSAH-JOHNSON

HEAD-PUBLIC AFFAIRS,

For MINISTER
