Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger Confesses To A Love Of Bob Marley’s Music

Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t smile a lot. It might have something to do with being a manager of a football club perpetually dedicated to not winning.

The Frenchman apparently has his fun side, which he says he hides from the public due to the demands of his job. One component of this fun side is that he loves Bob Marley, the Jamaiacan reggae superstar who cemented the genre.

“Yes, I love his music and the man that he was,” Wenger told Le Parisien, referring to the inspiration he derives from the artiste.

“He was not ‘fabricated’. He was real. I love people who do not have conventional paths and who stand out because of their talent. Raymond Devos and Pierre Desproges are also some of my favourite comedians.”

Bob Marley was only 36 at the time of his death in 1981, but his influence persists till today. He has sold more than 75 million records and is one of the top selling artists of all time, as well as generally being considered one of the greatest artists of all time.
