A former member of the defunct Praye Music Group, Eugene Baah, popularly known as Praye Honeho—has cleared the air on why he is not joining in the reboot of the group.
According to him, it is unnecessary for people to lay blame on any member of the group for causing the initial break away.
Explaining the reason for their split, Praye Honeho told DJ Murphy Lee on Sunyani-based Metro FM that the group was not able to hold up after Praye Tenten left them—and they finally reached a consensus to pursue their solo projects.
“I will be very surprise if I hear people accusing me of cooking up the split. It was Praye Tenten who left the group first, I don’t think we should apportion blame—because we were working together before he left to pursue his solo project, and even after he left; the two of us took the group on our shoulders before we also went on our separate ways.
He admitted that the break up of the group really caused some difficulties.
According to him, the split was not borne out of any misunderstanding—and he is surprised that his comrades did not inform him about their intention to reform the group.
“It is not that I don’t want to join them but the reason is…after the split things were a bit difficult, shows were not coming due to the non-existence of the group. And along the way, I started working on a project and I was signed by Blue Rose Entertainment. I have only served 1 year out of the 5 years agreement. At the end of the day, it is all about hard work,” he said.
“We began with Ghana Most Beautiful which became a big time achievement, as a TV Station used it for their show; we dropped ‘Pull him’ before ‘Catwalk’- of which we are currently working on the video. So I was some how surprised to hear about the comeback of Praye Tiatia and Tenten.
He added: “I didn’t know anything about it…the focus was on my album that I’m working on with my new management. I was surprised to hear about their reunion because if they had that intention, they should have got in touch for us to know what to do, even though I’m under contract.
He stated that what is holding him back from joining the ‘New Praye Group’ is due to his contract with the record label—because a lot of consequences will occur if he breaches his contract.
