Love Songs Are Not ‘Secular’ But Spiritual Songs – Ofori Amponsah

Ofori Amponsah

Pastor Alewa is desperate to convince Ghanaians that he is still a pastor, despite ‘backsliding’ back into his old ways with the release of a song with Sarkodie.

Ghanaians called him out, for saying he is a pastor now but still singing secular songs. After he failed to mention a bible verse when pressed, many people were left wondering if he had ever really changed in the first place.

Speaking on Citi FM on Saturday, Ofori Amponsah tried the debunk the notion that love songs are ‘secular’ songs. According to him, love is a natural phenomenon, and that singing love songs is just another way to glorify God.

“I believe that love is something that God wants; it is a part of God’s word.

“Singing about the love between a man and a woman is not worldly music; it is absolutely spiritual music. It is the kind of music that heals people,” he said.

According to him, singing love songs is what he does, and he cannot just change his stripes.

“This is what I want to do. I want to tell people I can serve my God, love my God. God has been a part of the whole Ofori Amponsah project. I just want people to know that this is who I am. I don’t have to hide anymore. I still can do my love songs that I really love to do.”

“Everybody has a right to know God. We are all standing in for God. Whoever you are, you have a right to know God” he added.
