Former President Jerry John Rawlings has openly thrown his support behind his daughter Ezenator Rawlings’ bid to become the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korle constituency.
Dr Rawlings filed her nominations to contest the elections, but has been facing some opposition within the party. Some people claim she is not a member of the party, or that she is not that well known in the constituency.
However speaking to Citi News, the former President said the attempts to denigrate his daughter would not work. He added that Ezenator has always had the passion to serve others, and that she has his full support.
“She asked for it and we have given her our blessings. She has always had the passion for helping people anyway.
“If she has made this choice, why not? So far as it is in the interest of the people I think we will support her.”
There are also rumbles Mama Rawlings is furious Ezenator joined the NDC and not her NDP. Huh, I think she made the right choice.
