It hurts that our people cannot see through the thick cloud of nonsense—all because of religion. And this is actually killing many of us as if we are some chickens.

This is from Thursday, 6th June 1988 Ghana’s newspaper! Do you see the headline? Has anything changed?
When it happened, we did the usual; called that people should ‘pray for Ghana’ and they went on our knees to pray.
Since then and before then, Accra continues to flood and instead of knowing that this damn prayer does not work and so we have to get up and fix the problem, we continue to pray to this same God who we have prayed to for over 25 years but He allows us to die in the same flood!
Until we change our ways and thinking, nothing will! And you want to tell me these people are not flat stupid?
Over 25 years of doing the same thing with no result and you won’t change it? Some black people are black for a reason.
Yesterday, some Ghanaians backed by celebrities took to social media to launch another ‘pray for Accra’ flood campaign—and because of this stupidity, next year, the flood will come and kill us again—I bet!
I am waiting for that one smart person who will launch ‘build Accra gutters or clean Accra gutters campaign’ instead of calling for prayers which have failed us for the many years we’ve relied on it.
