VIDEO: An Anonymous Caller Blows Yvonne Nelson’s Phone to Call Her Ashawo | All Because of #DumsorMustStop Campaign

Yvonne Nelson

This is not even funny—some Ghanaians are really backwards, it is as if they just picked them from the Paleolithic age and dropped in our century.

An anonymous caller blew Yvonne Nelson’s cell phone to blast her, calling her Ashawo (prostitute)—and the actress posted a video of what happened on instagram.

The caller used the number; 0307095195 and proudly kept calling the actress Ashawo as though he was her customer. This is obviously because of the #DumsorMustStop campaign which the actress and a few others are championing.

Many have seen the campaign which is a call for the incumbent government to fix the current energy crisis as an attack on the Mahama-led NDC government—so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say the caller is an NDC sympathizer.

Politics in Ghana is pretty unintelligent and that is why most intelligent and noble people stay away from it—for me, if you can, just find some cool country and jump out there because our people are just too much to deal with.

How can you get someone like the one in the call below to reason?

Ghanaian comedian/musician also had this to say about the caller’s phone number;

“According to truecaller the number that called Yvonne Nelson threatening and calling her ashawo belongs to one Appiah Stadium. The voice also sounds like the Appiah Stadium who calls peace fm….. who I hear defected from the NPP. So people who ask for simple light or demonstrate as per the constitution for a better life are ashawo? Why is it so easy for some NDC guys to use the word ashawo to describe women who demand that politicians deliver on their promise? Solving dumsor won’t take a day. Let’s be honest.

Repair works on the Adome Bridge alone has taken more than 2 years. That does not mean we should sit unconcerned and allow politicians especially those in power to have their way. We must demand it so that it becomes priority. It’s not Yvonne Nelson who is pressuring the government or the president. It was the president who made promises before the elections and keeps making promises.

I thought Haruna Iddrisu said the NDC government would have no excuse to continue dumsor so we should vote for them. Now the people are demanding the light you say they are ashawo. My NDC friends listen. If you want power in 2016 please call these guys to order. Your hard work goes waste anytime people like this animal speaks. Ah!!!!”
