By every stretch of ignorance, people including John Dumelo continue to wrongly throw out the adage ‘Rome was not built in a day’ in support of incompetence and deteriorating state of affairs…
Look, ‘Rome was not built in a day’ but it started in a day and the progress was visible—right from start. If a government has been given 4 years to fix issues they promised they would be able to fix and 3 years down the line, nothing has been fixed with hings getting worse—and we continue to employ ‘Rome was not built in a day’, then we are not serious.
Ghanaian actor-John Dumelo who campaigned for the NDC and President Mahama during the 2012 elections has stated in an interview with Starr FM that Ghanaians should get off the back of President Mahama and give him time to solve the challenges facing the country.
He said, “we should just give him [Mahama] time to solve the problems, the problems are there but it’s four years, Rome wasn’t built in a day… and if after 2016 the problems are not solved then we know what to do.”
If we cannot even see the building progress in 3 years, what makes him think, anything would be visible in the few months left to enter another election year?
The problem with many NDC sympathisers like John Dumelo is that, they cannot be truthful to themselves in relation to the state of affairs in Ghana.
Let’s take a look at the current power situation; when John Mahama and his NDC-government took charge of the country, how was the energy situation and how is it today? You cannot tell me, they are building Rome with what we are seeing…
In his interview, John Dumelo also said; I think a lot of people are putting pressure on him and it’s not as if he doesn’t want to solve the problems, he does so we should just give him time”.
“I actually lost some endorsements deals because I did something for the NDC. I don’t regret it at all,’ he added.
If you have 4 years to make an impact and 3 years go by without anything having been done, it’s certainly shocking people like John Dumelo think a miracle will happen in the last year.
