With the rate at which allegations were flying in left, right, and centre, a development like this was only a matter of time and the only wonder is why it has taken so long.
Judy Huth filed a lawsuit at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday December 2, according to Mail Online. In it she claims the iconic comedian sexually abused her at the Playboy Mansion in LA back in 1974, when she was just 15 years old.
According to the lawsuit, “This traumatic incident, at such a tender age, has caused psychological damage and mental anguish for (Huth) that has caused significant problems throughout her life”
The allegations against Cosby had intensified in recent times, with as many as 20 women having come out with eerily similar stories of sexual abuse spanning decades; all within the past month alone. One thing that had always seemed out of place is that charges were never filed against him, with the only exception being the 2005 lawsuit that was settled out of court just before going to trial.
As the first story told triggered an avalanche of other women coming out with their stories, maybe this lawsuit might also trigger the same response.
Huth claims she and a 16 year old friend were invited to the Playboy mansion by Cosby, who told them to lie about their ages (claim they were 19), if asked. After he got them drunk, she claims he forced her to perform a sex act on her with her hand.
The damages being sought are unspecified, whilst the lawsuit also argues that the statute of limitations should not apply to this specific case.
Bill Cosby was recently forced to resign from the Temple University Board Of Trustees due to all the allegations currently floating around, whilst he has also lost a ton of other television projects all of which were cancelled.
Meanwhile whilst most people distance themselves from the once universally loved ‘Cliff Huxtable’, singer Jill Scott launched a passionate defence of Cosby on twitter. According to her, the media was tarnishing the legacy of a great man without even the slightest shred of proof.
After some tweets on the issue bemoaning why he has been declared guilty by the media when all the ladies involved are yet to provide a shred of proof, another twitter user asked her why she was siding with Mr Cosby.
Her response was…
“@JasBaileyweets sides with Mr. Cosby? No. I side with substantiated proof when media/society is attempting to destroy a magnificent Legacy”

What do you think of Scott’s position, especially in light of this lawsuit and what ‘facts’ it might reveal: if it ever makes it to trial, that is.
