Listen To Barima Sidney’s Song-DONKOMI To President Mahama, Talking About The State Of Affairs In Ghana + I Hear The BNI Wants To Question Him For The Song!

I’ve heard the BNI will invite musician-Bariam Sidney of ‘Scent Noo’ fame for questioning because of the below song-DONKOMI he recently released, talking to President Mahama about the true state of affairs in Ghana…

As a postgrad International Human Rights student, I am forced to ask; what happened to Freedom of Speech—-if indeed the security agencies are contemplation about inviting a musician for such a song under the current democratic dispensation of Ghana?

I guess we forget the ACTUAL meaning of Freedom of Speech which I believe is; the right to say what is offensive. If it was only about saying what people like or will want to hear, then we would not need to safeguard our right to say it—after all, no one will chase you for saying what they want to hear.

This perfectly mirrors the statement which is often attributed to Voltaire – “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Check out Sidney’s take on the state of Affairs in Ghana below…
