Let me mention that I have and probably will always be an advocate for young people in governance especially women. But in the process of making the system more approachable, let us not compromise on quality, competence and intelligence.
Ghana has earned itself a lot of international respect and recognition in many spheres; we cannot mindlessly reduce the quality of governance. Being in Government is serious business and although age doesn’t always signify maturity, for many people it does.
If you are a person in Government be it an MP, DCE, Director, Minister, Deputy Minister or President, you must know how to behave yourself. You owe it to yourself and the dignity of the office you hold to uphold decorum and hold in loose talk.
What am I going on about?
The NPP Member of Parliament for Berekum East in the Bono Ahafo Region , Dr, Kwabena Twum Nuamah today made a statement calling on the President to sack Victoria Hamah for ‘ displaying immaturity and incompetence’
He said that she has continuously ‘committed unpardonable mistakes’ that should not be entertained at all. The deputy minister is reported to have continuously goofed on several public platforms .
She was recently caught on camera telling her audience that her speech was wrong and not what she had edited so she had to speak from her mind. She blamed her aide for the mistake. She repeated this same mistake again at the Launch of Expresso Ghana ACE Cable.
Dr. Twum Nuamah states that after great strides in government, we cannot afford to lower our standards by keeping such people as ministers.

I have personally been keenly following the several remarks of Hon. Victoria Hamah-Deputy Minister for Information and many others for a while and I must express my disappointment at her inability to simply behave herself and hold in her tongue on issues. Or does she just enjoy making headlines? Why not make headlines for the right reasons then?
From expressing her opinions on Samuel Awuku to talking about corrupt citizens and all openly on her facebook wall!
When I woke up to calls for her dismissal today although from the opposition, it is justified to me.
This woman continuously makes the most unnecessary and volatile remarks on her Facebook as if she is just another teenage girl airing her thoughts. Gatherings, functions, trust her to talk like she is among her peers having a light conversation.
Why the NDC will not call her to order is beyond my comprehension. Must we support any form of behaviour by always justifying it just because we are in the same party as that person? Such behaviour has come to be the bane of Ghanaian politics. Mindless support of crass behaviour…
So you tell me, do you think it’s in order to call Hon. Victoria Hamah to order?
