Impressive Entries Collected For 2012 VGMA’S

blank
THE 13th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Festival has recorded an impressive turnout of entries for consideration into the 29 coveted award categories of the Scheme.
More than 350 individual songs and nearly 200 artistes have been submitted since the information on the call for entries was made public in early January. Many more entries are expected in as the process is yet to officially end.
The VGMA Board during their second sitting on Thursday January 26, 2012 began the arduous task of cataloging the over 350 song entries into their respective categories.
The dedicated Board team has their work cut out for them during this stage of the scheme. It is their responsibility to painstakingly place all the entries into categories for short listing – a task made more grueling by the fact that Members have to literally listen and debate on the appropriate category for each song presented.
The impressive turnout this year is a good sign that the music industry did not do too badly in the year under review (December 1, 2010 – December 31st 2011).
The VGMA aims above all, to recognise the hard work and dedication of the music industry practitioners. It must be said at this point that the industry deserve a pat on the back for work done in keeping Ghana and the world dancing with their releases in all genres of music.
A cursory look at the work done so far in the categorization process reveals that there will be an interesting race for the Hiplife Song of the Year category. The category has received a tremendous boost with the advent of the “Azonto movement” with its accompanying dance rhythm. The competition here will certainly be worth one’s while.

People in the showbiz industry are considered as not too serious. When professionals in the entertainment industry try to veer off to politics, they are mocked because politics is believe to be for ‘serious’ people.
It is good to know that at least some Ghanaian voters are wise and of age when it comes to voting for people to represent them in Ghana’s parliament.
Now known as Benita Okity-Duah, she also defeated Nii Sowah Boye Sekan, the junior brother of the late Nii Adjei Boye-Sekan, the first MP in the Fourth Republic in the Ledzokuku Constituency.
The Ledzokuku Constituency has been one of the swing constituencies in the Greater Accra Region. The NDC won and maintain the seat with the Late Nii Adjei Boye-Sekan in 1992 and 1996. The NPP also won the seat in the 2000 Parliamentary Elections with Mr. Edward Akita and managed to keep it in 2004 with Dr. Gladys Norley Ashitey. The current MP, Nii Nortey Dua regained the seat for the NDC in 2008.

Motivational Message Of The Week: Nothing Great Was Ever Achieved Without Enthusiasm

blank
How far someone can go with any project determines how much he/she can achieve. If how far you can go depends on ‘enthusiasm’, then how much or what you can achieve is also dependent on ‘enthusiasm’.
The above may sound complicated or silly, but it is a fact. Nothing great in this world has been achieved without enthusiasm. In order to achieve something great, you must go far with your efforts, run over disappointments and failure. The only way you can do this is to have ‘enthusiasm’ in what you doing.
You can only achieve anything substantial in what you are doing if you have the needed ‘enthusiasm’ to out run the various obstacles that will come your way. Without ‘enthusiasm’, you will never be able to achieve any greatness in what you are doing.
Greatness is when you find the limits of possibility by going beyond them into the impossibility. Getting to the door of the impossibility is therefore a long rough journey through ‘possibility’; this journey can only be fully taken with enthusiasm. And it is at the end of this journey that ‘Greatness’ dwells.

As a result, any video rental shop that rented local movies was in contravention of Copyright Law, Act 6: 90.
